Beauty in the Imperfect | Portrait Photography Fargo

 Boy holding his yorkie puppy.

Oh goodness, I cannot even tell you how much I love a classic black-and-white portrait.  Come into the studio, so you can be totally relaxed, and don’t worry about getting that perfect "looking at the camera" picture.  There is so much beauty in your family’s faces already, that the perfect picture really already exists.
Can I also say, it truly is OK that your little one is wiggly, for those times when they are in motion and you are just loving on them produce some of the best moments of love and connection?  Stop and just soak your loved one in.  Etch out some time just for you to be together.

Tell Me A Story - December in West Fargo 2017

Hard to believe that Christmas has already came and went and now we are headed into a new year.  It has been fun working with this group of talented photographers to share our stories throughout the year.  I hope everyone had a blessed holiday and you will have a fantastic 2018!

Lifestyle Photography on Film - Tell Me A Story Jan. 2017

I took these images while following an assignment from a workshop.  For the most part we were using digital for the captures but I took some with film.  It just solidified why I love film so much.  Maybe it has to do with how my childhood was captured but even more so the delicious look of film and holding on to history.  I know for sure I am a nostalgic person.

This post is also a part of our Tell Me A Story blog circle so please continue on to see Arthur's beautiful work.

At the beginning of the year

How the year began.

It had been decided that for the month we were going to share whatever it was that we felt like sharing and it bought me back to how the year began.

At Christmas time when I have a little extra time to think about the upcoming year I usually start with what kind of projects with photography I want to do for the year.  I think at this time it was just meant to be as I saw a call to participate in a all film 365.  It is challenging me and keeping me going on the hard days and here is why.

In March we had to say goodbye to our little Yorkie who had weaved her way into all our lives in immeasurable ways.  My children had her doing all that a playmate would do and here is the proof.

As hard as that was and still is we have this new little addition. We are loving her and she keeps us busy with her antics.  Here she is in an image taken on film and one that I was ecstatic has been featured on a photography website.

So film and this little puppy are bringing much joy after a rocky start to the year.
